This policy covers only the phone numbers and messaging data used by MyGuardian Emergency Alerts, the SMS text-messaging program MyGuardian, Inc. uses to notify a user's Guardians (trusted contacts). It supplements — and does not replace — our general Privacy Policy, which covers the rest of the MyGuardian app.
Effective August 5, 2026To operate MyGuardian Emergency Alerts, we collect:
We use this information solely to operate MyGuardian Emergency Alerts as described in the SMS Terms & Conditions: to send Guardian-invite texts, SOS emergency-alert texts, and safe-arrival/ETA confirmation texts; to honor opt-outs and stop messaging numbers that have replied STOP; and to troubleshoot message-delivery problems if you contact support.
We share your phone number and message content with our SMS delivery vendor (Twilio) solely to transmit the messages described above, under contractual confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information if required by valid legal process, or to protect life or safety, consistent with the "For legal and safety reasons" section of our general Privacy Policy.
We retain your phone number and opt-in/opt-out status for as long as you remain a Guardian for any MyGuardian user, plus a limited period afterward to honor opt-outs and to keep the delivery logs we are required to retain for compliance purposes. If you opt out, we retain your number on a suppression list so we do not text it again, even if a user later re-adds it.
Reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. You can also ask the MyGuardian user who added you to remove you from their Trusted Contacts, or contact us directly at support@myguardianinc.com to have your number removed or to ask what data we hold about it.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will also be reflected in the general Privacy Policy where relevant.
